| "In
the beginning, when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth
was a formless wasteland, and darkness covered the abyss, while a
mighty wing swept over the waters......Then God said, "let there be
light."
And so begins the Greatest Story ever told . . .
The
Story of Salvation is a dynamic and inspiring musical production that
begins with Creation and concludes with Pentecost. Children through
young adults work together to bring the timeless Gospel to life once
more.
The Story of Salvation began as a YtY
production. Now it is a "living evangelization" as YtY members take the
production on the road, inviting young people from other faith
communities to participate.
YtY members
arrive at a parish and immediately get to work! To help participants
understand their characters, YtY members begin with leading bible
studies... We all know the story of creation - or do we? Who were the
prophets and why were they important? Were the disciples really people
like us? We did Jesus have to die? What might the Resurrection have
been like? Why is Pentecost important - what really happened when God
poured out His Spirit on the earth?
As
participants bring their biblical character to "life," they find new
life and meaning in the scritpures that they have heard so many times
before. Rather than simply hearing the story, they participate in the
story, thus becoming part of the Story of Salvation.

| The
Passion of Christ, His life, His death, and His Resurrection, are God's
gift to you and I. Because of the Salvation Story, we never face Good
Friday without the certainty of Easter Sunday. If we die with Him, we
shall rise with Him. This is our eternal hope, our eternal joy.
The Lord is our strength and our song, and he has become our salvation.
Alleluia! He is Risen! He is risen, indeed!
