Youth to Youth Catholic Evangelization

"Go and make disciples of all nations..." Matthew 28.19

We are a group of Catholic young adults and high school students.

We belong to Mt. Zion Pastoral Center, a Catholic Lay Community with a special emphasis on the development of Catholic family life, located in Montrose, Michigan in the Lansing Diocese.

Bishop Kenneth Povish+, (Bishop of Lansing, 1975-1995), conferred canonical status on Mt. Zion in July 1988.

Bishop Earl Boyea is the current bishop of the Diocese of Lansing.

We have been privileged to minister in 42 dioceses throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Italy, Vatican City, Germany, and Iceland.

We work with parishes, schools, young people, families, dioceses, youth camps.. you name it!

Youth to Youth members are priveleged to attend Catholic conferences around the world as participants, as well as facilitators and leaders.  At a conference on Catholic Laity in Rome, we were blessed to provide music at a Mass with Cardinal James Stafford as the celebrant.  Afterwards, he wanted to learn more about us, so we had lunch with him... it is possible that there was a bit of singing and dancing, but, well, what can we say?

Mt. Zion:

Mt. Zion Catholic Pastoral Center, is home to Youth to Youth Catholic Evangelization. Mt. Zion was established as a pastoral center on July 31, 1988 under Canon 516, par.2. We are under the authority of the Most Rev. Earl Boyea, Bishop of the Diocese of Lansing, Lansing, MI.

On November 30, 1990, Mt. Zion became members of the Catholic Fraternity of Charismatic Covenant Communities, under the Pontifical Council of the Laity. [Read more about the CFCCC.]

Board of Counselors:

We are grateful for the women and men who serve on our Board of Counselors.  They lend their expertise to our training and our ministry.

"If you are willing to listen, you will learn;
frequent the company of the elders;
whoever is wise stay close to him.
If you see a man of prudence, seek him out;
let your feet wear away his doorstep!"
Sirach 6: 33-36

"The aspiration that humanity nurtures, amid countless injustices and sufferings, is the hope of a new civilization marked by freedom and peace. But for such an undertaking, a new generation of builders is needed. Moved not by fear or violence but by the urgency of genuine love, they must learn to build, brick by brick, the city of God within the city of man.

Allow me, dear young people, to consign this hope of mine to you: you must be those "builders"! You are the men and women of tomorrow. The future is in your hearts and in your hands. God is entrusting to you the task, at once difficult and uplifting, of working with him in the building of the civilization of love.”

Pope John Paul II
